Physical activity is essential for child development and wellbeing. If you wish to learn about the role of physical activity in the development of the whole child, and ways to monitor physical development, then this short course could be for you. You may be a parent or someone working in, or thinking of working in, the Child Care sector.
Content and structure
The course covers the following topics:
• Child behaviours and theories of physical development
• How children learn and communicate
• The links between physical literacy and the physical and emotional health of children
• How to monitor physical development
Delivery and duration
This course is delivered online, utilising e-learning.
There are a number of online short-answer questions.
You will receive a YST certificate following successful completion of the online questions to highlight your achievement of the learning outcomes.
You may decide that you want to progress to the Supporting Physical Development and Healthy Eating in the Early Years course to achieve a recognised qualification from Active IQ.
You will be able to access this course at a reduced price upon successful completion of the Physical Development in the Early Years course. Contact us to find out more.
The product fee includes an annual licence for a single user. The user has unlimited access to the e-learning for 12 months from the date of enrolment. After this time, they will need to renew their licence by re-purchasing the product, should they wish to extend their access.
